AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas will host nine FIFA World Cup 2026 matches — more than any other venue in the tournament. The venue is temporarily renamed Dallas Stadium during the World Cup under FIFA's sponsorship rules. The lineup includes five group stage fixtures, two Round of 32 matches, a Round of 16, and a semifinal on July 14.
For traveling fans, three names jump off the schedule: Argentina plays Dallas twice (June 22 vs. Austria, June 27 vs. Jordan), England opens here against Croatia on June 17, and the July 14 semifinal will be one of the most in-demand match days of the entire tournament. Plan accordingly — hotel rates and availability in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex are already moving on these dates.

Group Stage at AT&T Stadium — 5 Matches
The first five matches at the venue run between June 14 and June 27, spanning three groups (F, L, and J). Notable storylines:
- Netherlands vs. Japan (June 14) — Dallas’s tournament opener at the stadium. Group F's heavyweight against an aggressive Asian side that will travel well.
- England vs. Croatia (June 17) — a rematch of the 2018 semifinal. English fan travel to Dallas will be heavy.
- Argentina vs. Austria (June 22) — the reigning champion's first Dallas appearance. Demand for nearby hotel rooms peaks around Argentina matches; book multi-night stays now.
- Japan vs. Sweden (June 25) — a low-key matchup that could decide who advances from Group F.
- Jordan vs. Argentina (June 27) — Argentina’s second Dallas match. With the Albiceleste fan base in DFW already strong, expect rates to spike harder for this date than for the June 22 opener.
Knockout Matches at AT&T Stadium — 4 Matches
- Round of 32 — June 30 & July 3: two matches between group runners-up. Specific teams won’t be locked until the group stage concludes.
- Round of 16 — July 6: winners of two Round of 32 matches advance to this fixture.
- Semifinal — July 14: one of the four semifinals of the entire tournament. This is the single highest-demand match day on the AT&T Stadium calendar — and a major demand event across the entire DFW lodging market.
Where to Stay: Why Plano Works for FIFA Dallas
Hotels in Arlington proper (immediately adjacent to AT&T Stadium) will be the first to fill and will see the most aggressive rate inflation. The Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex extends in every direction from the stadium, and a hotel in the Plano / Legacy West corridor is one of the strongest out-of-Arlington options for FIFA travelers:
- 34 miles to AT&T Stadium, ~35–45 minutes by car or rideshare depending on match-day traffic. See our Plano to AT&T Stadium travel guide for the recommended route and timing.
- Free on-site parking for every guest, including group buses and oversized vehicles — useful for fan groups arriving from out of state.
- Group room blocks available directly from our sales team. No third-party platform, no per-night surge pricing on locked blocks.
- Marriott Bonvoy — earn points on every stay, even on match weekends.
- Best Brews lobby bar on-site for pre- and post-match gatherings, with locally-sourced DFW craft beers on rotation.
- Legacy West nearby — premium dining, retail, and entertainment within walking distance for non-match-day activities.
Peak Demand Dates to Watch
Based on team fan-base size and travel patterns, these are the AT&T Stadium match dates we expect to see the steepest hotel demand across the entire DFW market:
- July 14 (Tuesday) — Semifinal. Expect a multi-night demand wave starting July 12.
- June 27 (Saturday) — Jordan vs. Argentina. Argentine fan travel + a Saturday slot. Book the surrounding nights (June 26–28) now.
- June 22 (Monday) — Argentina vs. Austria. Argentina's tournament opener at the venue.
- June 17 (Wednesday) — England vs. Croatia. English fan travel is significant; the rematch storyline adds pull.
- July 6 (Monday) — Round of 16. The specific teams matter, but knockout demand is always strong.

Training Camps in DFW
Several national teams are using Toyota Stadium in Frisco as a FIFA-designated training base camp during the World Cup. Fans following a specific team's practice schedule may want a hotel positioned between Frisco (training) and Arlington (match day) — see our post on FC Dallas Training Base Camp for FIFA 2026 for which teams are based there and what the fan access is like. Four Points by Sheraton Plano sits between the two — ~15 miles to Toyota Stadium, ~34 miles to AT&T Stadium.
What to Do on Non-Match Days
Between matches, the Plano / Legacy West corridor has plenty to occupy fans and families. A few of our guides:
- Things to Do Near Legacy West — the area guide for our immediate corridor.
- Best Brews + the Plano Beer Scene — watch parties and craft-beer recommendations for non-match days and overflow viewing.

Book Multi-Night Stays Now — Group Blocks Filling Fast
Match days at AT&T Stadium will drive significant demand across the entire DFW hotel market. Properties closest to the stadium will fill first, but properties across the metro — including Plano — are seeing strong demand already, especially for the Argentina matches and the July 14 semifinal.
